First impressions were of a comfortable, cosy, well-fitted hideaway with the most stunning views!
The first point to note is that the location is incredibly beautiful. The views are to die for and the peace and tranquillity of the area is almost unimaginable.
The actual apartment has a welcoming approach and looks pretty from the outside, with its own pathway up to the front porch, and the large conservatory to the side.
The boot - room/porch is an excellent feature which provides the perfect place to take off walking boots before entering the property. There is plenty of room to hang outdoor clobber, rather than having to hang it indoors. The décor is immediately emitting a vibe of cosiness and class, with its warm-coloured painted wall and the quirky, horse-shoe coat hooks which we loved. Straight away, it looks like this apartment has been finished to a high standard.
Inside, the sitting room is cosy, comfortable, well-furnished and spacious, and this leads on to a well - proportioned conservatory, with a dining table and chairs. The glass doors which separate the two rooms are a lovely feature.
The curtains are gorgeous, and good quality.
The views – especially from the conservatory and bedroom, are breath-taking.
The sitting room feels spacious, despite being furnished with a large dresser, and also a drawer unit which houses the tea and coffee-making facilities. The granite worktop on that is especially lovely.
The two armchairs are perfect, being comfortable and stylish, and there is a television if one ever gets tired of looking at the views!
The kitchenette, which is cleverly hidden behind a closed cupboard, and which lights up automatically, is great fun, and also totally practical. There is everything one might need – including the kitchen sink - to make breakfast, lunch and even a hob-based or microwave supper. No oven – just sink, hob, fridge, toaster and microwave, but what else does one need?
There is an anti-room off the sitting room, which contains a large storage cupboard and which leads to the bedroom and also to the bathroom. There is a full-length mirror there which is a nice touch. There is under-floor heating too.
The bedroom has a double bed, with bedside tables and lights, and an open rail – come - storage unit, which is more than adequate for clothes and paraphernalia for a few days.
The bathroom is well-designed and fitted, with a large shower, (complete with side jets if required), a sink and loo, heated towel rail and outside window.
The accommodation has a special ambience – not only because of its location, but also because of the thought that has gone into its design and décor. The artwork is spot on, the quirky touches are great (such as the pouffe and highland cattle lamp), and everything is of the highest quality.
All in all, a beautiful little retreat for two, to where we would be happy to return time and again.
5 stars!
